For several years, I have been photographing in and around my home. Since my children share the home with me, their influence is present in nearly all the pictures – to the point that I consider them collaborators. This image is of a corner of our living room where my daughter Zoe created the piece containing the dress and the yellow rabbit head. The stick hanging on the doorframe was carved from a saguaro rib by my son, Will. On the right is a bust of Dante that once belonged to my grandmother. Throughout my childhood, I thought it was an Indian. Many years later, after the death of my parents and the dispersal of heirlooms, I learned that it was the author of The Divine Comedy.
