Imperial Silence is a four act Xican@ animated opera that brings to life stories and histories that have been deemed dead, unimportant and forgotten. Act I, "Los ABCs: ¡Qué Vivan los Muertos!" is a dead primer dedicated to those who have died in war. Act II, "Deadtime Stories with Mariachi Goose and Friends", revisits Mother Goose tales from Chicana/o perspectives, witnesses the fall of Humpty Mariachi Dumpty, and challenges us to solve the enigmatic "Da Pinche Code." Act III, "¡Radio Muerto!",
travels down the highway of silenced voices while listening to the radio.
