Dan Collins (b. San Mateo, California, 1953; lives and works in Tempe) Dan received his BA from the University of California, Davis, MA from Stanford, and MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently a Professor of Art at Arizona State University. His work utilizes an intermedia approach in which materials and processes are chosen for there effectiveness in conveying the idea. He continues to explore the thin line between real-world representations made possible with 3D satellite mapping and dooms-day special effects achieved by advanced computer animations techniques.
