Physical evidence related to the cycles of nature is a quiet reminder of the passing of time and the urgency of the moment. Influenced by the drought in the southwest, my current work reflects on the impact of water, or lack of it, on the natural world. The narrow boundaries between a scorched desert environment and the vital relief that moisture provides is measured to gauge the distance between precipitation and combustion, and security and danger. Implied accuracy poses questions about the validity of these measurements and the unpredictable space between opposing conditions.
