ART INSPIRES MUSIC:
Interdisciplinary Gallery Project 3
Local musicians Yolanda Bejarano, Aaron Gerwien, Steven Reker and Robin Vining created musical compositions inspired by works of art from the ASU Art Museum permanent collection for Art Inspires Music  Museum visitors engage in both music and visual art at listening stations within the interdisciplinary space of the museum's Americas Gallery.

About the Musicians
Yolanda Bejarano composed her song in her native Spanish. She currently fronts a band called Snowsongs, and has worked with the bands Chula and The Slow Down. She is an alumnus of ASU.

Steven Reker plays under the name wonderful wednesday and also sings in the touring band Reindeer/Tiger Team. Reker is in his final semester as dance major at ASU.  

Aaron Gerwien currently fronts a band called Black Feet and was a founding member of The Go Reflex.

Robin Vining has been playing music in the Phoenix area for over a decade. He currently plays a wide variety of instruments for his bands Sweet Bleeders, Colorstore, Fatigo and also fills out the sound of a number of other local bands.

About the Curator
Guest Curator Kimber Lanning is the owner of Stinkweeds New and Used Music, director of Modified Arts and co-founder of Arizona Chain Reaction.

Interdisciplinary Gallery
The Interdisciplinary Gallery is a space within the museum designated for guest curators to select works from the ASU Art Museum's rapidly growing permanent collection to open dialogues between the visual arts and other disciplines. It is a unique project among museums in the region.
