All New Community Docents, SAMS and Volunteers must:
- Complete application
- Determine type of volunteer service to be provided:

Docent – Touring or Student (SAMS)
- Informal interview with Laura of Education Department
- Docent-Volunteer - Store
- Informal interview with LaReal of Museum Store
- Docent-Volunteer - Front Desk / Administration
- Informal interview with Laura and Security Department Staff
- Community Volunteer – Events
- Informal interview with Laura or Ted of Special Initiatives
- Purchase or renew ASUAM Membership (Waived for SAMS)
New Touring Docents and SAMS:
- Complete docent training course (1 semester of weekly 1-hour classes). With no more than 3 absences and completion of practice tour presentation prior to graduation
- Follow/assist with 3 veteran docent-led tours
- Give 1 critiqued tour
Annual Touring Docent, SAMS & Docent-Volunteer Service Commitments:
- Assist with or lead an average of 2 tours a month (Touring Docents) or give 100 service hours annually (Docent-Volunteers); SAMS must give a minimum of 25 service hours per semester
- Attend Friday morning meetings during academic year
- **Log all touring and service hours (ALL Volunteers )**
- Complete annual self-evaluation
