Information on the '98 Festival
Arizona State University Art Museum was proud to present a number of short
films & videos by emerging Orange County, California artists. For that evening,
individuals were asked to bring a lawn chair, blanket or anything else they
wished to sit on and join us on the back
plaza for the free event.
Louella Harris graciously donated her time so refreshments could be purchased
throughout our program from the Sweet Lou Hot Dogs cart.
The evening program included:
Gregory Earls and Suzie Lyons
Sax's Final Orbit
Sax's Final Orbit revolves around the relationship between two very
different artists: Saxon, an accomplished Flatlander struggling to elevate
his street performance to an accepted art form, and Max, a classical painter
struggling with the pressures of bearing her soul on canvas. Fresh from the
Newport Beach International Film Festival.
Bob Pece
Fossils 'n Stuff

quest for the three legged dinosaur, and later forays into amusement parks.
Beatrice Palicka
Sportsters
The multiple award winning film from USC student Beatrice Palicka about a
bicycle race between a Mexican farm worker and a high-tech engineer.
John Gibbons & Steve Jonas
Breath of Life
In this film Gibbons and Jonas combine Western desert and mountain locations
with the spiritual journey of a Native American. Recently the winner of two
bronze Telly Awards (non-broadcast video) for best low budget film and best
musical score.
Beatrice Palicka
The Sacred Hoop
After the death of her husband, a widow searches for deeper meaning in her
life, finding it in a combination of physical and spiritual healing.

The story of a fictitious figure in the history of animated filmmaking, starting
with "archive" footage of early experiments and continuing persistently to
present day projects.
