Veiled Promises (8:00)

Veiled Promises is based on the life and death of the French
Carmelite nun, Saint Therese of Lisieux (1873-1897). Although she
died an early and painful death at the age of twenty four from
tuberculosis, her maturity transcended this century to culminate
in her being named a Doctor of the Church in 1997 and referred to
as one of the greatest saints of modern times. Therese abandoned
herself completely to love and in the process left a legacy of
beauty, and a path of rose petals for us to follow.

Susan Hornbeak-Ortiz is an artists living in Southern California. She has exhibited
her work in Galleries and Museums throught the US. A recent project, Pearl, was part
of the exhibition Sig-alert that took place at the Arizona State University Art Museum
in Spring of 1999.
