Classes

Classes from a multitude of disciplines and from universities and colleges across the Valley use the ASU Art Museum as part of their course work. Studio art classes have focused on working with artists in our Social Studies program; dance classes have created responses to the museum exhibitions for their final projects and performed them in the museum. Art history classes study our exhibitions and collections for various research projects and art education students create lesson plans based around objects in the collection. This is just a small sampling of the diverse ways our faculty use the ASU Art Museum to enrich their courses to benefit students in unique ways.

Starting in fall 2009, the museum will be offering a Museum Guides class at ASU. This class will focus on community engagement and learning in the ASU Art Museum.

We are a contemporary art museum that provides opportunities for students to see emerging artists and emergent art forms, participate in our artist-in-resident programs, hear artist lectures, research our collection and perform in our spaces. From internships to volunteer opportunities, there are many ways for students to be involved at the museum. We offer global perspectives on the world and forums for cross-disciplinary studies. Come and experience all the museum has to offer you.
