Students

Participate – Research

Students may conduct research on artworks in the collection or on artists and works in exhibitions through internships and class projects, and often working closely with museum curators and faculty. There is also the opportunity to test and apply your research in the museum context through curatorial decision-making, educational materials in galleries, tours for children and adults and on our Web site.

The ASU Art Museum offers a number of specialized facilities that provide additional sources for research. The education department, the Jules Heller Print Study Room and Ceramics Research Center (CRC) each has a loan library and a collection pertaining to specific topics of art media and history. The CRC has a growing database and archive of research materials on the collection and the history of ceramics.

We encourage students to take advantage of the direct and powerful learning experiences available with access to artists and artworks provided by the ASU Art Museum. In addition to the works on display in the galleries, students can make an appointment to view works in the museum's encyclopedic collection of 4,000 prints. Students can make an appointment Tuesday – Friday by calling 480.965.2787 to schedule a time.
