March 15-22, 2005

Please join the ASU Art Museum on its upcoming trip Fete 05: Tour de Clay in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore from March 15th -21st. The annual National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference affords attendees opportunities to be totally immersed in clay, through hundreds of exhibitions, stimulating workshops and lectures, and special access to artists and patrons alike from around the world. Our trip package will provide you with an open ticket to all conference activities as well as a very special Collector’s Weekend sponsored by NCECA that includes exclusive dinners with prominent artists and premier seating at the Gala auction/dinner that will highlight some of the most influential clay artists working today.

Prior to the conference, we will spend a day and a half in Washington, D.C., where we will be treated to special tours with curators of the recently opened National Museum of the American Indian and the Renwick Gallery (the National Crafts Gallery). We will also be welcomed into the homes of collectors Diane and Marc Grainer and Leatrice and Mel Eagle for the special privilege of viewing fabulous American and British ceramics in lovely suburban Washington settings.

On a practical note, NCECA is a very informal conference; you can get by wearing jeans during the day so plan for casual dress with a few dressier outfits for the special dinners.

Thank you for your consideration in joining us on this wonderful trip and for supporting the activities of the ASU Art Museum’s Ceramics Research Center.
