Mission statement

ASU Art Museum’s mission is to be a meeting point for the exchange of new ideas, perspectives and experiences among artists, students and the public through our exhibitions, residencies, collections and programs. The museum forges meaningful connections across all areas of research in order to create a better, more sustainable future.

Strategic plan

The 2019-22 Arizona State University Art Museum strategic plan will guide the museum’s work in effectively carrying out our roles and responsibilities allowing us to successfully maximize our mission. The overarching goals provide a balanced framework of what needs to be done by us to reach our vision and fulfill our mission for the next three years. This plan is a commitment we are making to actively rethink our role as a cultural commons in a rapidly changing cultural and political landscape and to be a new model for a different and more relevant kind of museum — expanding and deepening the ways in which all people experience and value the visual arts in their own lives.
